The Ferrari 308 is a 2-seater Coupè built in Maranello from 1975 to 1985 in two versions, GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta) and GTS (Gran Turismo Scoperta). Like the similar 208 and 328, it had a mid-engined and rear-wheel drive.

Pininfarina was commissioned to study the line and the interiors and entrusted the task to a team of designers, led by Leonardo Fioravanti. The silhouette of the new model was clearly inspired by the 512 BB, more refined and with the addition of the eye-catching side air intakes, located below the belt line, evocative of the Dino 246.
The construction of the bodywork was commissioned to Sergio Scaglietti, a historic collaborator of Ferrari.

An injection system type Bosch K-Jetronic was launched in 1980. The new models were called 308 GTBi and GTSi, the power was reduced by 15 hp from 229 to 214 at 6600 rpm, consequently there was a reduction in harmful emissions .
Two years later the multivalves came out, with 4 valves per cylinder, called “Quattrovalvole” with a new increase in power to 240 hp at 7000 rpm.
Of the "Quattrovalvole", 3,790 examples have been built, divided between 748 GTB and 3048 GTS.
The 308s are thus among the Ferraris built in a greater number of specimens (of which, however, only about 750 were built in fiberglass with dry sump lubrication).

The 3.000-displacement V8 engine was double overhead camshaft, with four Weber 40DCNF carburettors. The European version produced a power of 255 hp SAE at 7700 rpm, while the American version provided only 240 hp SAE at 6600 rpm. This difference was due to the presence of emission control devices in the US version.

Acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, and from 100-200 km/h in 17.8 seconds. Top speed was 252 km/h.
